WINDSOR GIANTS - PARENT / GUARDIAN CODE OF CONDUCT

The WINDSOR GIANTS MIDGET FOOTBALL TEAM, INC. has implemented the following Parent/ Guardian Code of Conduct for all participants. Parents are required to read, understand and sign this form prior to their child(ren) participating in any Windsor Giants event(s). Any parent/guardian and/or guest who displays improper conduct at any event, game, or practice may be asked to leave the event, and/or be banned from future Windsor Giants’ events. In addition, their child(ren) may also be asked to leave the event and/or be banned from participation in any future events.  Refund of registration fee(s) will be in accordance with our refund policy with no exceptions.

PARENT / GUARDIAN AGREEMENT
As Parent/Guardian(s) of a child(ren) participating in the Windsor Giants Football and Cheerleading organization, I therefore agree to all of the following items:

1. I understand I am financially responsible for all registration fees, fundraising activities, and any additional expenses required of my child (ren)  by the Windsor Giants.  Failure to meet any financial obligation, MANDATORY participant fundraiser(s), and/or parent volunteer hours per participant will prevent my child (ren) from participating in any activity, including but not limited to games, team activities, and/or awards, until the obligation(s) is satisfied.

2. I will be responsible for dropping off and picking up my child (ren) on time from all events, practices and/or games. I will support, and fulfill parental/guardian responsibilities associated with all fundraising activities.  I understand it is MANDATORY that player’s Parent/Guardian must volunteer two (2) HOURS PER CHILD as needed during events, practices, and/or games.

3. I will inform the coach of any disability, including but not limited to, medical, physical or learning, that may affect the safety of my child or others.

4. I will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults.

5. I will emphasize skill development and practices and how they benefit my child over winning. I will also de-emphasize winning/losing games and/or competitions in the lower age groups.

6. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. I will also follow this behavior.

7. I will demand that my child treat other players,
coaches, officials and spectators with respect.

8. I will teach my child that doing one’s best and competing fairly is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance.

9. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of any athlete(s).

10. I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire
I may have for my child to win.

11. I will never question, discuss, or confront a coach(es) at any practice or game field, but will take time to speak with a coach(es) at an agreed upon time and place.

12. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and/or practices, unless I am an official volunteer coach of the team.

13. I will accept decisions of cheerleading judges as being fair and judged to the best of their ability.  I will accept decisions of football referees as being fair and called to the best of their ability.

14. I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice, or other sporting event.

15. I (and/or my guests) will not deliberately incite or engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, volunteer, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane language or gestures.

16. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all sports events.
